Not much to blog about here either. The entire day was spent taking back the rental car and changing our flight. For the last 24 hours United kept texting and that severe weather was causing flight delays and cancelations. So, we just decided to go to the airport (had to take the car there anyway) and see if we could get a different flight.
It was a zoo, lines everywhere, the departure board was Read on...
After my little review of famous mountains, why not review some famous lakes? There is something magical about both. Lakes tend to evoke a more tranquil feeling, for the most part. The bluest of blues can be seen in many of the lakes I have visited. Lake Tahoe Close to home, and a year around destination, Lake Tahoes water level seems to rise and fall with regularity. It is pretty any time of year Read on...
The next morning we set out for our next adventure, climbing Mt Kinabalu! Felix had registered all our details (including evidence of a negative Covid test) and we congregated at the park headquarters together our 3 mountain guides Sai, Edwin and Bonny. As we had to take our overnight gear with us, most of us sent a small amount of gear with porters. And with that we set of to the Timpohon gate th Read on...
Not a long drive just following Lake Lucerne along the first part of the Northern bank and then heading back up towards Zug then to the bottom of Lake Zurich. From there we used the motorway and it was quite busy, especially being a Sunday, but a pleasant drive. Now that we have the car, our days dont have to start as early so a bit more sleep is the side benefit of that. We were up at 7 and down to breakfast at 8:30. Breakfast was the standard everything for a Full Scottish, but two types of eggs, scrambled and fried. Remember fried in the UK means sunny side up.
The whether was overcast, which makes for good driving. The day started at the farthest poi Read on...
This blog entry is going to indulgent, so please dont hold it against me as it was all novelty for us! Anyway, we did the online as required, 24 hours before our flight and we discovered that we had been upgraded to Business Class, or Club Class as they call it on British Airways. Yippee - time to start gloating to our poor offspring, who are with us on this holiday.
We had tried to go for the Read on...
Although our RV has cable, its only the basic Seattle channels, so any news beyond weather is only the acceptable Seattle news, so we mostly have ignored it. Its really quite interesting how life in a of KOA campers can an engaging experience.
Last night before dark, we heard what sounded like a bulldozer starting up and working on the other side of the campground. After a little while, we saw th Read on...
