A great stay at the Jolly Farmer with a very luxurious breakfast before heading south along Mallerstang. First stop was the 13th century Pendragon ruined Castle before heading along to Sedbergh for a brew. Unfortunately the cafes were closed so we had to do a takeaway and sit in the street. Some narrow lanes to Kirkby Lonsdale in brilliant sunshine until we came across a Road Closed sign, which we Read on...
Chase Center is the new home of our Golden State Warriors, and this will be my first visit. The pandemic has delayed several previous attempts to attend a Warriors game here. They broke ground here on January 17, 2017. The architect was Manica Architecture. The $1.8 billion arena was privately financed by the Warriors. The area is known for being the home of UCSF Medical Center and Starting in 19 Read on...
So we to our garage around 1am today. Sunday was a long travel day. I was up by 6am we were off the ship around 8:30am and at the Seattle airport by 9am. The Seattle airport was packed. When I say packed I mean historically crowded. The locals were freaking out about it. Ive been in this airport four or five times and Ive never seen it like this EVER. However, there were probably 4 ships that cam Read on...
We had a reservation for 10:30 a.m. at the Rijksmuseum. This museum is about a walk from our hotel and has paintings of Rembrandt, Vermeer and other Dutch Masters. Additionally, there are exhibits of furniture, silver objects and other things. It isnt as large as the Louver in Paris but large enough to be too much for 1 day.
It is interesting as there is a passageway thru the middle for bicycles Read on...
Everytime I hear this question I feel fear and tears. I instantly clench and tears form at the backs of my eyes.
Although I published a daily vlog though lockdown talking about it face to face is just not the same, when I write a blog or film a vlog it doesnt feel like talking to a person but just releasing whats inside outside.
I was confronted in London with the question so many times, a quest Read on...
To honor the start of the Tour de France on Saturday, here is a silly little email I wrote back in 2013. I was just starting to get serious about cycling, bought a carbon fiber road bike, and decided cycling would be my main form of exercise. Fast forward to the 2021 race, the defending champion is a Slovenian, Tadej Pogacar (pronounced Po Ga Cha). He is only 22, weighs a mere 146 pounds, but prov Read on...
We are home, or at least our place of current residence. (The word home is up in the air now, innit?) We pulled into our drive about 9 on the clock last evening, having stopped off at the Saxapahaw General Store to pick up some food on the way. We unloaded the coolers and put their soggy contents in the fridge and turned on the AC and took care of our basic needs. Then we crawled into our familiar Read on...
Well it might begin with a C but Calais it aint . It will have to do though. A chance to scratch the itch of wanting to travel . Something that seemed unlikely a few weeks ago.
It seemed a mix of independent shops, many empty ones and a few beggars on the street . Masked shoppers and unmasked . Victorian splenour next to charity shops and a massive square filled with shoppers and a singer belting Read on...

Today was my first day at RWO. Sorry for the long post feel free to skim. If nothing else I think this will help me to remember my time here.
Fortunately, last night I was able to get a good nights rest so I was ready to take on the day. It was cool enough at night that I could sleep under a sheet and I also have the bug net up around my bed. That said, I still have quite a few bug bites. I am go Read on...
