The wedding of our niece (Susans brothers daughter) took us to Lexington, Virginia. We arrived the day before so as to have plenty of time to explore the town. This was our first time staying in an Airbnb. The ho Read on...
The pleasure we derive from journeys is perhaps dependent more on the mindset with which we travel than on the destination we travel to.– Alain de Botton
After a good sleep in our apartment in Sibenik last night, we had a breakfast of coffee and leftovers (cheese, bread, hummus, dried figs, apple). We bought a small container of milk last night and after we used it for coffee this morning, we n Read on...
For some reason I woke up this morning thinking about days. We divide our lives into measurable units – years, months, days, hours – and each passing day has a character or identity of its own. Each day in itself, a microcosm of life: we die each night and are reborn each morning. And there are so many days! Our mornings in Hanmer Springs so far had all started with cloud and a threat of rain but this morning the story was different with broken cloud and blue sky apparent. This bodes well for our drive over Lewis Pass and onto Lake Rotoiti when we expect the mountain scenery should be spectacular.

Only 8 years in the UK and Devon will have been the farthest West, along the south coast, that we would have been. We always say we want to get to Cornwall, we will eventually and over the years we are gradually getting there! It also helps that we have our own car! we can finally go to places without having to worry about renting and public transport.
