Super Bowl 47 will start this afternoon. I will be there to watch the Forty Niners. I became a fan in the Fifties, when two players from my hometown, offensive tackle Monte Clark, and all pro defensive back, Jimmy Johnson were drafted by the Forty Niners.
Back then, it would have been difficult to envision the concept of the Super Bowl, or the greatness ahead for these two players. My Dad would h Read on...
I have to admit, we may not jump continents every quarter anymore, but Im still solid late with my blogging. Travel is a state of mind...and when its not easy to cross oceans, you always have some cool places to visit closer to home. I was fortunate enough to visit Victoria Falls area close to ten years ago...but Tanya hasnt done it yet. Last time, it was an in and out short trip mainly to the Fal Read on...

Gabby the motorhome is parked in yet another cold and windy car park and is being slowly covered with a thin layer of sand . Silly Sat Nag couldnt find where we were looking for which was a surprise as we were looking for one of the largest sand dune in Europe. It was similar to the Pyla Dune in France . A dune that grows year on year . And big enough to be seen for miles .

From Parma we drove to Valpolicella, near Verona to embark on wine tasting in another area of Italy. When we arrived, we went to our AirBNB which was more of a castle than a house and it had a beautiful patio with a very nice view of the valley. After getting settled in we went food shopping and made a feast of salad, cheese, meats and whatever. Unfortunately we got some bad news that our dog, Mis Read on...
I am clearly still partially on UK time as I was awake early so walked out to The Alamo which was only five minutes away and was illuminated at night. It is surprising what a difference moving 500 miles to the west makes as sunrise was significantly later than it had been in New Orleans.
I got talking to the Alamo Ranger who was outside the site even at that time in the morning. It seems that the Read on...
Though I wrote this email many years ago, I still get excited about the two weeks of the US Tennis Open in Flushing Meadow, NY. This year will allow fans, and the crazy roar of the fans during long rallies. And I will root again for Naomi Osaka. But if you are a tennis fan, you will someday want to make your way to NY in the late summer for this tournament. Just picture George Costanza eating an i Read on...
We stood at the gate . We had parked Ziggy up on the tiniest of plots of grass where parking was allowed . We were alone apart from a lone cyclist who had propped his bicycle up against the fence. He was waiting for us through the gate before he saddled up and rode away. We were entirely alone at that point . In the distance we could see Lilleshall church which felt a million miles away from bustl Read on...
You can just imagine that with the vast amount of air travel I have done, that I have seen some really strange behavior. Maybe bizarre would be a better term. Here they are in no particular order. Stinky First Class Yes, I was seated in First Class on a flight to Denver, but I actually had to ask the Flight Attendant if I could move back to Coach. Why? It stunk so bad, I could hardly breathe. Turn Read on...
On our way to this campground Nate stopped off at a few parts stores to see what the stock was for 16 spark plugs since the closest part store to the campground was 30 minutes. Of course, none of them in the area had 16 spark plugs in stock so we ordered them. Due to the distance from the campground, we decided it would be best to change them by the auto store just in case something went wrong. Su Read on...
