My second day in Tarija was also the day that protests were happening. This limited our ability to do as much as we normally would.
I understand that these protests They had the same protest twice last year and in 2019. The longest one lasting 21 days. It is the only way for the government to listen to the people. Santa Cruz, while not the capital, is where from for the rest of Bolivia. That is w Read on...
And finally, I am able to start all the European blogs. Once the little guy arrived Europe was just a little more attractive from a flight perspective (7 - 8 hours versus 15 plus for Asia) to fly to Europe. And for some reason it seems that our European travels always went through and used Germany as a starting point. So, we have been to Germany many times, but have spent very little time there.

My tour of the Alhambra had a rough start. A stomach upset from the shrimps I thoroughly enjoyed for lunch on my last day in Morocco kept me close to the hotel for a whole day. That or something else morphed into a terrible cold overnight, when the temperature in the hotel room was far below tropical paradise levels. Feeling cheated of a portion of my holiday, I stole a toilet roll from the bathro Read on...

Take a small step towards a goal . This week has been that sort of a week - small steps. England have started to remove all restrictions. Life is slowly returning to normal. Wales will follow albeit slower. Perhaps by the end of the month we will see the end of Covid passes . Another month will be needed before we ditch masks.

We found that Cordoba, like Toledo, is often a study in contrasts: a histo Read on...

Yesterday – March 22nd 2021 – there was a brouhaha on the Old Swinford Hospital Alumni website concerning the alleged death of former Head of Maths, Len Krukowski. He was initially reported dead, but this turned out to be false. It seems he has been admitted to a nursing home and is quite frail – not surprising for a man of 98. Chris Crookes has posted two photos of him from 2018, standing o Read on...
