One of the great joys of visiting a country for the first time is the food. Then maybe the coffee, wine, or native beverages. But first. I dont necessarily have a favorite, since I grew up on a variety of both American, Japanese, and Armenian food. But if I had to pick a few favorites, I would choose Peru, Romania, Japan (of course), Hong Kong, and Hungary. Croatia has a riches of seafood along th Read on...
I found this article in Winespeed to be quite insightful: When phylloxera destroyed most of the vineyards of Europe plus many in the Americas in the late 1800s, Australia was largely spared. One of the lucky legacies is that Australia now possesses many of the oldest vineyards in the world. In the Hunter Valley, for example, the Stevens Vineyard, now owned by Tyrrells, includes an Old Patch of cha Read on...
I departed from Nacogdoches County for a two hour drive to Cedar Creek Dragway. (I made a stop on the way in Athens, Texas to shoot the Henderson County Courthouse.) I arrived at the dragway at 12100 Kaufman County Road 2139. I paid the $20 admission fee and I was ready to scoot. (The tract opened for racing at 2 PM; with matched vehicles reserved at 4 PM.) The track manager was very helpful to Read on...
Vado spesso in questo bellissimo parco centrale, ora chiamato giardino scott o lo SCOTTO cos chiamato dai pisani.

Ci sono molte panchine e tavolini al sole e allombra, dove mi piace studiare allaperto. Sopra i tavoli ci sono gazebi in legno e adoro l Read on...
We started today off in true formhunting for the key. We spent ½ hour looking for the key in all our pockets , suitcases, backpacks, purse, even the cooler! Finally I said that I would go to the truck and retrace our steps to find the key. I got ready to go out the hotel room door and Kevin asked me What is that in your hand? I said the room key. Upon arising and looking outside it became apparent that today was likely to be somewhat different from a weather standpoint. Our fears were well founded. By the time we got to the parking lot for the visitor center and to catch the shuttle bus to Stonehenge it was spitting rain. The air was noticeably cooler, and with the blowing wind and rain it had the sort of raw day that you want to avoid as Read on...
The day at Pompeii wiped all of us out. We slept in the next morning, lounged and slept some more. Finally, we got ourselves up to go out.
Kim found info online on couple of historic bridges nearby that we could cross so we did an evening walk, walking down to one, crossing it then walking along the river and crossing the other. It was a warm evening but along the river was nice and we got some w Read on...
Our second day started the same as the first: a 90 minute chill yoga session. Speaking of chill, we would start at 6:30 am and the room was cool having not been heated overnight. Gradually it would warm up, but there were just these amazing views of the surrounding mountains which made the session that much more spiritual.
Our breakfast was great each day, with full options. It was too cold to si Read on...
