One of my favorite Caribbean Islands is definitely St Lucia. Even though most days I did not have enough time to explore I did find a nice place to chill out when even I am here. When ever we dock in Castries I will go to the Auberge Seraphine Hotel . Even if I just have an hour to spare I like here to grab a drink or some food. The hotel is a little hidden from the port, but it is only a five mi Read on...
A very interesting day Sunday 2nd, got on the train in Cefalu about 11.30am, this rail actually goes all the way to Rome! This was a great journey to Messina and beyond as the route was so scenic hugging the coast all the way there. We arrived in Messina and it took about half hour or so to get train onto the ferry, whilst we all sat in our seats, it is the only ferry that takes trains left in ser Read on...
I turned on New Mexico Hwy 567 and drove to Carson, NM. I think that town was named for Kit Carson. They have an active post office. I had to stop and check out this old antique car body. I dont know, but I think it is a model A Ford. With no stop signs it was quick to get on to BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land; and a very fun but careful drive down the dirt road into the Rio Grande Gorge. Aft Read on...
Our plan for the next two nights was to camp at the ruins of Mary Kathleen township, but after speaking with one of the checkout ladies at the Mt Isa Coles supermarket we changed our mind and drove instead to the Clem Walton campground overlooking Corella Dam. It was a very short drive of just 60km heading east to this pretty and hugely popular free camp. The camp straddles both side of the dam an Read on...
Read on...

Today was a travel day in the truest sense of the word. We left our hotel at 10:15 following a late breakfast for the short trip to the ferry. We were riding the ferry from Belfast to Carinryan, Scotland. It was to be about a 2.5 hour ferry ride. This ferry was nothing like any of the ferries we are used to. This ferry was enormous! We were traveling aboard the Stena Ferry line. The ship holds ca Read on...
It is our last day in Nice. We pack and we decide to head to Parc Phoenix. We have passed the Parc several times and decide it would be a nice easy thing to do on our last day. It is a Parc with different gardens located in a large hot house. There are also outdoor gardens with many different kinds of plants that I have never seen before. They also have various fish and some animals like miniature Read on...
One of our missions for today was to try and actually find the French Market (see A Constant Race Against The Rain), but first we had booked to go for a Mississippi cruise on Natchez Steamboat. The boat was actually called The City of New Orleans, so Im not sure what has happened there? Also I didnt see a lot of steam, not that it matters, but our Steamboat Natchez cruise was on the diesel ship Ci Read on...
