Unfortunately with covid cases on the rise and South Carolina being very bad about mask wearing my adventuring is a little less interesting this week 😞 Still fully enjoying being on the road as a nomad and Im triple vaccinated but I still would rather not spread covid or get sick so most of this week was spent at home making some food, reading books, catching up with some friends virtually and Read on...
The backstreets reveal some hidden treasures of buildings. Luckily Luxembourg didnt get dismantled too much in WW2.
Were just treading water at the moment. Tim went in to work today. No, seriously, he did, and Sue and I were left to amuse ourselves.
My most important, and task of the day was to mail a license to Switzerland, so a friend of Tims could continue to drive.

Another decent morning weatherwise. Our loop was through Chatburn to Sawley, Bolton by Bowland and round the radio mast and home via Sawley and Chatburn.
Our virtual journey would be leaving Pierrelatte, still on the ViaRhona, and staying close to the River Rhone. Soon after leaving Pierrelatte we pass through Bollene. We stayed here in 2009 in a hotel on the edge of town. We walked into town in Read on...
After another full day on the Mekong in a long wooden slow boat (wed pushed off the riverbank at Pak Beng about eight hours earlier), we arrived at a berthing area for slow boats just outside Luang Prabang in the early evening. We clambered onto the riverbank, struggled up a particularly steep set of stairs to the roadside and jumped into a waiting minibus – we were heading to Legend Hotel, in L Read on...

Phuket (careful with that pronunciation now - POOKET) was never a place we really wanted to go due to its popularity with foreign tourists, but as numbers are so low at the moment we grabbed the opportunity. Our stay on the island began with three nights at the Memory at On On Hotelwhich, problems aside, was a great hotel. Located in the heart of the old town, it is the oldest hotel in town havin Read on...
While I recently posted a photo of me and my Dad for Fathers Day, there is a better one. You may have seen it before on my FB page. It was taken by a professional photographer from NY back in the Fifties. As I recall, it was published nationally, and may also have won some awards. The photo is my paternal Grandmother, Yuki Kataoka, and my youngest sister Carolyn. It was taken on the ranch next doo Read on...
I was going to do the walk in the city on 9th June. However, Central line had severe delays on both directions; I decided to do the walk around Piccadilly, St James and Mayfair.
I was instructed to use the South Exit 3 to go to Piccadilly. A lot of shops had Jubilee window displays, very patriotic. I was particularly fond of one of the gentlemens clothes shops display – contained several puppie Read on...
