We had planned to drive around the Ring of Kerry today, before heading to our next stop about 2 hours drive away. Im delighted to say though, that following a from Man with Donkey yesterday as well as one or two other people in Dingle, we changed our plan and did the Slea Head Drive instead. Slea Head is a promontory in the westernmost part of the Dingle Peninsula. National Geographic magazine onc Read on...
We said goodbye to our Turtles on the N.W. side of the island. We were the first car there, followed by 2 other women we chatted to afterwards (I think they were a little concerned for us because we had stayed out there so long!). The visibility was not as good as before the storm, but we spotted 6 turtles. The challenge was that normally we can swim about 20 apart, and see a good 12 feet right a Read on...
Einen Fluss entla Read on...
Up early to get to Le Mans. Well we had a diversion of what must have been at least 20 miles as the A28 where we needed to get on was closed. To be honest this was quite good for me as it gave me a break from being buffeted on the motorway - I know I will need a back and shoulder massage when we get back to the UK as cor blimey my right shoulder has so many aches due to having to hold the motorhom Read on...
It was a late night so the 7:00 room service loud buzzer this morning was not enjoyable. We have a standing order of coffee, greek yogurt, bananas, and juice so they at 7:00 every morning, which we now realize is probably a good time to stop that. Thankfully Tory was able to fall back asleep and Steve went out to the patio to read his book. It was windy the whole day and some overcast in the morni Read on...
I didnt get much sleep as we had an exciting night after a bear decided to pay a visit to our garbage can in our front driveway. It was a big bear too. I thought I might see a bear this weekend, since we are spending it in the mountains in KY, but I did not expect to see one before we even left home! Despite getting to bed late and struggling to calm down enough to sleep, we woke up ready to get g Read on...
We were invited to visit friends for a long leisurely lunch at their gite in Lamonzie, near Bergerac. When I say friends we had never actually met but had been talking to each other on Facebook for 2 1/2 years as we are both sellers on the same online platform. Such a pleasure to find we got on really well and our husbands hit it off right away too.
Lunch was on the patio, in the shade as it was Read on...
The dirt road from Arkaroola to Copley, a distance of 130km, was in very good condition. It took us through some scenic countryside with larger and greener river valleys which had resulted in the road in those areas to have been graded and mended due to the recent flooding.
We were pleasantly surprised to travel on bitumen from Copley to Marree as we thought that from Farina it would be dirt. At Read on...

A dominant impulse on encountering beauty is to wish to hold on to it, to possess it and give it weight in ones life. There is an urge to say, I was here, I saw this and it mattered to me. - Alain de Botton
We started the day by enjoying breakfast on the sunny terrace of our apartment, admiring the lovely view. We had some fruit, and some of the delicious cakes we bought yesterday from Cukarin Ba Read on...
