I had been thinking of a long distance cycle for a while and the knowledge that I lived at the easterly end of the widest part of England led me to plan a route across England, following a line westwards, avoiding A roads and sticking to cycleways and country lanes. The ride was going to take in Saffron Walden, the Chilterns, Milton Keynes, Chipping Norton and the Cotswolds, Tewkesbury, and end a Read on...
After our visit to the Viking ships it was time to walk across the nearby park up to the city centre and the cathedral . For once we were climbing uphill which was a novelty as everything was normally flat . A cathedral noted to be the burial place of all the Danish Kings and Queens . The cathedral was a striking building set in quite an empty square and is part of teh Lutheran church of Denmark. Read on...
The travel time to Chambers was only about 30 minutes- fantastic- and we arrived to this amazing retreat amidst the rainforest. We were really excited here, as it was said to be a Mecca for some amazing birds and especially mammals. It was fabulous. Similar to OReillys rainforest retreats, the lodges were set above ground so you are at height, making it perfect for the birds to visit the balcony Read on...

Lisle sur la Sorgue looked lovely. A small village with lots of craft shops, cafes, water and brocantes . Those antique/junk shops that France do so well. The first day of the Easter weekend. I guess it might be the s Read on...

We woke this morning to find the ship has left Amsterdam and we are about to dock in Kinderdijk. We both had a great nights sleep and have recovered from any jet lag. Our local tour guide Ben is a vol Read on...
Another bright day in Kendal and a short ride to Weatherspoons for breakfast. Not sure if it was a good idea as we were the first in at 8am but ther had already run out of bread and had only one portion of on Mr Martin get it together.
