Day 68 - another day of semi -lockdown . Test and Protect has started in Scotland . Track and Trace has started in England . Will that work ? Somehow we doubt it . Walking round a supermarket who have I been next to? I will not know them. How can I tell the NHS who I walked by, who I stood by, their names, their addresses and their phone numbers . It feels an ill thought out scheme . Premier Leagu Read on...

SUN, 17 JUL 2022 TRANSFER TO BRUGES, BELGIUM: The train ride itself was uneventful, as expected. I had a layover in Brussels, Belgium to make my connection for Bruges, Belgium. No problem. Plenty of time. After all, this isnt OHare. After I disembarked the first train, I looked at the tote board and found nothing going to Bruges. The line at the information/ticket counter was long enough to take Read on...
I wanted to have an easy day to start off our Amsterdam trip, especially since we had a concert at night. Of, course working out a schedule with days closed for one thing and not for the other, I had to work around all of that. So, for our 1st day of sightseeing, we went to the Oude Kerk (Old Church), from 1306. This is a church but also used for various exhibits. Today there was an exhibit on ch Read on...
Today we moved to Munising Tourist Park Campground. On the way we stopped off at Lakenenland Sculpture Park. The park contained over 80 iron sculptures. Some of the sculptures were whimsical while others showed the artist political views. Daisy really seemed to enjoy this stop she said it had a nice junk yard, liberal movement vibe. This campground is on Lake Superior as well, but the sites were Read on...
Today was about a 22 kilometer trip, from Navarrete to Azofra. We packed our stuff, left our bag and keys to the apartment at the office, and we were on our way. We were too early for breakfast, so we just started walking. Just on the outskirts of town, we passed the cemetery, apparently a rather old one. The first town today was Ventosa, about 6 kilometers from Navarrete. At about 9am, we reached Read on...
Two days before the Polar front ice storm, our weather stations warned us about all time record temperature lows and ice storm that could knock out our electric power for days. (The Texas electrical power grid is not reliable during temperature extremes.) I purchased ten gallons of gasoline for my portable generator for power. I purchased disposable propane bottles for my cook stove and my space Read on...
It was to be my first Christmas away from my family home. My grandmother passed away in August and my parents moved to live in a small hamlet called Trisant, which is around 12 miles from Aberystwyth. I had never been to Wales before, except for a Tottenham Hotspur cup final in Cardiff ( they lost!) so I didnt know what to pack. Luckily I had bought a large camping backpack that thankfully fit in Read on...
We had planned staying in London in 2020 – it was the first time in 20 years while I have been living in the UK. Having heard that all the shops will be closed on the Christmas Day and some shops will be closed for a few days around Christmas, I carefully planned shopping and meals between 20th and 24th December. Mark finished his work at home just after 5 oclock on Christmas Eve. He has been w Read on...
