We both think that San Sebastin is now close to our favourite place on the planet, so were feeling very sad that this is our last day here. Issy says that well feel happier if we go for a long hike, so we head off towards the lush green hills of the Mount Ulia ridge at the east end of Zurriola Beach. Its hot yet again, and its a bit of a struggle getting up the steep steps through suburbia. But it Read on...
Off we head on the train (AUD102 prebooked) to the Cinque Terre with a stop at the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Getting on the train was the most difficult as we didnt know if we had to get our tickets validated. Started to worry, but its too easy if youre tickets are pre purchased. Just walk on through and find the platform. We get off at Pisa (yay – the correct stop) and head to the Leaning Tower. Read on...

This morning we headed off into the Kinchega National Park. Such a drama buying park passes in NSW! We did try to buy one online as we did (easily) for South Australia, but they wanted us to submit a copy of our vehicle registration showing our home address and a copy of Bernies Seniors card. Well, gee whiz, we didnt think to bring the vehicle registration documentation with us!! Today at the park Read on...
Today Ive booked a full day tour to the Valley of the Temples and Scala dei Turchi, both of which are about two hours away near the town of Agrigento on Sicilys south coast. They do things a bit differently here in Sicily. Issy never had any intention of doing the tour but when I tried to book for one person I was told it was sold out, but if I booked for two, well no problem..?

In order to enhance our staycation, Ive bought a couple of walking guides – one was ‘Walking Literary London. I suggested to Mark we would do a walk in Highgate on the 1st Bank Holiday. Weather forecast on the 1st Bank Holiday wasnt promising; so we decided to do on Sunday, 2nd May.

At the end of March I walked to the sound of the morning chorus and the growth of all those Spring Read on...
After breakfast we drove perhaps 30 mins to the National Park - it was actually 7 miles into the park that we found the visitors center – that made sense, after all, how could the entrance to an enormous cave be right there on the main highway?
Did we want to take the elevator down the 80 stories and then walk the 1.2 miles, or walk down the 20% grade for over a mile? What do you think? Of cour Read on...
