Time passes swiftly and opportunity is lost Each of us should strive to awaken Dogi Zenji . I prefer to write the second part again and change the wording ever so slightly. Strive to do something today. Not to miss an opportunity . And make the most of every passing minute . We woke early to a bright and sunny morning which followed a good nights sleep. We emptied Gabby and filled her up again Read on...
I had seen this tour before but during the day so it was nice to revisit at and enjoy the glowing images. We started the tour by the Pest Castle looking down onto the famous Chain Bridge that will be closed shortly for a 3 year renovation. It was lit in green to celebrate St.Patricks Day on 17th. The Chain Bridge was built between 1839 and 1849. The main driving force behind the project was the Read on...
Our second trip of the holiday was booked via Viator. Departure time was 7am so we allowed ourselves a hefty 5 1/2 hours sleep to prepare. Claires snoring had woken me in the night and I woke up to see her balancing her pillow on her head. She cannot explain why and was back on top of he pillow by this morning. I have contacted the circus and asked if they need a but havent had a reply as yet. T Read on...

After knocking off the first half of the Great South West Walk over the previous week, my break stared with a much needed rest day in Nelson, before I packed up early and got a lift back to Moleside Landing with Chris - the owner/operator of the local canoe - for my kayak trip down the same 50km stretch of the Glenelg River that I had spent the previous three days following on foot. Thankfully t Read on...
After gathering at the Pumphouse Theatreparking lot, we fifteen walkers were immersed in the crackling, fluttering brown leaves of late fall - both the ones that had fallen onto the grass and those futilely clinging to the trees. Under a full sun, the river reflected vigorous blue, presenting a classic panorama of sky and water. The dappled light over the pathway let us forget the snowy cold of th Read on...
After two days we left the Spitzkoppe Lodge with its unique setting amidst boulders and sand, heading for the Atlantic Coast. Passing the desert of the Dorob National Park we thought for a minute to be in Arabia. The sand structure changed from red into known yellowish tint. The shape of the dunes reminded us of our Arabic Emirates excursion, we had in 2018. Dorob, means dry land, which indeed it Read on...
I dont know much about it, apart from the distinctive exterior so am unsure what to expect, but the start is good. I didnt know about Puppy the giant flower sculpture outside the entrance, but it is different and I like it. Inside the museum it is a relief from the heat which we see reach 44C today. We have tickets in the afternoon that avoids the worst of it. but it is still hot walking around. Read on...
At one point, there were 43 different Japantowns in California alone. But, after World War II when the United States Government wrongly imprisoned its own Japanese American citizens in concentration camps, most Japantowns were lost. There are now just three. They are located in Los Angeles, San Jose and San Francisco (pictured above). I to San Franciscos Japantown for a sushi lunch during the spr Read on...
