Wow, it was cold this morning. The sun did make an appearance for the last few miles but my hands and feet didnt thaw out. Today we went through Bolton by Bowland, Gisburn, Rimington, Downham and Worsten, across Four Lane Ends to the Golf Club and home.
Our virtual journey would be heading due south on the canal all day. Cycling on the canal all day is easy in that its flat and there is only one way to go, so no direction problems. It can a little monotonous, after a while, as there is less change of scenery and you pass by towns and villages rather than go through them.
You need to stock up on food before setting off of the canal to go into the nearest town/village. Over the years we have improved our technique with this and find out before we set off where the supermarkets are. If possible we buy lunch before we set off and then we dont need to worry about finding it on route. Paul tends to stay outside with the bikes while I do the shopping. I out of the shop to find him talking
to someone who wants to know where we are travelling from and where we are heading. Vouecourt is a very small village in
