Today we visited Bergerac. We have stopped off here for an hour when driving past in the motorhome some years ago but never explored properly so a must for a day out today. Stifling hot from the moment we got up and in fact temperature went to at least 42 degrees at one point which is over 100 F. A pleasant drive, 45 minutes or so and once in town we followed signs to a carpark. Delighted to find Read on...
Well I am back after a few days away from blogging. As we had a couple of days not doing activities apart from we hired electric bikes to go on a cycle ride with the rest of the group. We picked the bikes up and decided just to take them for a spin before the ride with the group. This was a great idea as going up a hill with a camber I fell off - so that put paid to me going out with the group - I Read on...
We docked in Belfast very early in the morning. The harbour glistening with all the lights. The luck of the Irish was definitely not on our side as regards weather today unfortunately. We had thought about visiting Giants Causeway but with the rain teaming down and the howling wind we decided against it. As we left the docks we saw two huge twin shipbuilding gantry cranes. The cranes were named Read on...

The new normal. Normal in Will it ever be normal again ? We seem to use the word normal a lot these days but it does not mean what it used to mean. It has normal to wonder what normal actually looks like. Being able to swim without booking a session. To go to a National Trust property without booking. To work from an office rather than from home. To go away on holiday. We have had a few weeks of s Read on...
After another early morning and breakfast we started our drive towards the border of Eswatini and South Africa again, towards Kruger National Park. Before long, we stopped to visit the Ngwenya glass factory, where we watched the talented glass blowers create a range of enchanting African animals, birds, and fish, as well as tableware, made from recycled glass that is collected by the children of Read on...
We woke up this morning and got off to an early start for a ship excursion in Kona on the Big Island. Kona does not have a port so we had to anchor out in the harbor and take a tender into a port for our excursion. They use some of the ships lifeboats for the tenders, so now, we can all say weve been in a lifeboat. Our excursion was an tour of the bay and harbor in a boat looking at the corals, Read on...
