This morning we had a pickup for a tour of the town of Broome where we had started our tour. After looking at the dinosaur footprint site and other landmarks we were dropped in town. We wandered around and then had a coffee before we departed for our tour of Horizontal Falls. We were dropped at the airport for our flight on a seaplane. The flight takes 50 minutes over the Dampier Peninsula and Ki Read on...
My fifth time back, I started at the opportunity plaza again. This was early February, so not hot, but warmer than I thought. I stopped for lunch here after Vietnam, planning Vietnamese food, but found this nice restaurant instead: Kojaki. It was empty and the staff were friendly. I ordered a nice refreshing drink and a bibimbap - it was good and satisfied any craving I may have for it, but it l Read on...
I find that over 1 year has passed since my last blog. I suppose that most have been like us, holed up at home, living our lives in a new strange way. We had 2 trips planned to Europe and several where we started out for Canada but found that we had to postpone each one and then postpone again. We started to forget what wed originally planned. We delayed plans that involved flying, started drivi Read on...
We left the albergue about 7am, stopping at the Panaderia de Los Arcos for some coffee and sweets. There were a lot of wheat fields with mountain backgrounds in the 7 kilometers between Los Arcos and Sansol, the first town along the way. It was fairly to other days, so far. At the entrance to Sansol we stopped at the Tienda Colmado for another cup of coffee and some sweets, our second breakfast. O Read on...
This entry will be brief... mainly because it is now the 21st April and I have half forgotten what we did on the 14th March but need to add my blog here so I can remember when I refer back to this when I am old ?? We had forgotten just how much we enjoy driving through France. Not on the motorways where I find it hard to stay awake and where there is little chance of pointing my camera at an inte Read on...
Early June and a rather miserable Phuang presented with conjunctivitis (pink eye). Ali chloramphenicol eye drops and they were duly sourced and initiated. However, a mere day into their application and Phuang reappeared bearing a small dish of a greyish creamy liquid that had been proposed as a supplementary (traditional) remedy. What was it? Breast milk. OK, I am aware from whence milk originates Read on...
We stayed at Ralphs other house in Tequisquiapan, which was very pretty. At night, we walked to the citys center and had dinner. A musician played music for us and found a particularly zealous fan in my sister who danced to his tunes. We went back to the house to which I had a night of sleep because my precious father snores like he is being paid to (Do not exclude that Michael Holzer). In the m Read on...
1st an early morning at the mass ascension, the ascension of both larger and smaller balloons in the morning. 2nd an evening for the balloon light up and Trick or Treating for the community. The balloon festival is not as large as the Albuquerque Balloon Festival, but the Taos festival is fun and local. It is a topic that we heard about in the local restaurants and on the streets, the residents a Read on...
Forgot to mention yesterday that campsite is Camping la Masia. There is another campsite on the next road to the sea which is also open, cheaper and more basic but this suits us fine now while it is pretty empty. Wouldnt consider it in season. Quite expensive really considering all we have is a safe place to park, water and electric. Wifi is on top of that ($12 for 3 days, one device) and though t Read on...
We first visited to Bangkok and this amazing place over 25years ago, we returned in 2013 as a last stop off of a cruise before flying home, unfortunately at that time I wasnt feeling 100% so I thought walking around the Palace at midday with temperatures in the 30s wasnt a good idea and I didnt take the tour so this morning I have taken a virtual tour with Kay the local guide. How strange not to s Read on...
