Since I am always in Carneros to visit Domaine Carneros, there are other stops, some of which might be quite good:
Saintsbury: Learn more about what means here. Founders Richard Ward and David Graves named their winery after the famous English scholar and wine lover. The wines here can be lush and rich.
Bouchaine: With its first vines planted in the 1800s, Bouchaine claims to be the oldest cont Read on...

Well, weve embraced the beach lifestyle and are sleeping in and taking it easy. Were letting the kids sleep in and Anne and I went for coffee again. The local market has a coffee shop in the back and she makes a good cappuccino for Anne and an Americano for me. Just what weve been looking for. We usually take 2!
After our coffee, we walked around checking out the local restaurants and shops and t Read on...
Driving West of Tropic, Utah Hwy 12 goes uphill on to the Paunsaugunt Plateau crossing Bryce Canyon National Park. (The East side of the P. Plateau is Bryce Canyon NP where the natural erosion exposes the colorful soft rock.) I turned South in the Dixie National Forest on Forest Service road 087. There are so many free legal camps there for individuals and groups. I drove by Tropic Reservoir and T Read on...

We got here by driving from Franz Josef - again a slight underestimation of how long it would take but made easy by the scenery along the way. Fox Glacier, Bruce Bay Lake Paringa, podocarp forests; Rimu, Kahikatea, Totara, Kahikatea and beech among others. A good road surface, winding at times but with a good surface mostly, the forest leaning out over the road or pressing in on both sides. Its ma Read on...
Seems odd starting this blog back in Porlock and part of me has thought why bother...but I need to get it down on paper, as one of the pleasures is reading it back months later, so here we go!
The border back into the South of France was surprisingly a check point with a good amount of checking, but luckily not us!
It was an early start to the day as we were going to spend the day in Monaco. Luc Read on...
There was dew on the BBQ and other things this morning. I hadnt seen dew since well maybe not at all on this trip. Certainly none out west where it was so dry. I dont remember if there was any the first couple of mornings when I was leaving home either. Maybe it was too warm?
Another long drive but better with scenery today. I believe this is the fourth time Ive driven across the top of Lake Supe Read on...
I generally visit Las Vegas twice a year now, once in the spring, and once in the fall. And I rarely visit or stay downtown or or the Strip. I spend most of my time with dear friends, Ken and Debbie out at TPC Summerlin. So, why am I here? Well, Debbie, an excellent golfer, is playing in a big tournament. So, I will keep during the day, play cards, and probably have some rather interesting meals. Read on...
