This is a very short entry the day was spent driving to Denver, in not great weather. We woke up to about 3 to 4 inches of snow outside of our window. We ate breakfast in the hotel. They were so short staffed, they couldnt even clean the tables, just sat people in the bar. In reality, they could have cleaned the tables, just were organized enough to do so.
After breakfast loaded up the car and he Read on...
It was an early up and about at 5.30am on the Swedish ferry for another hot shower and to watch the boat approach the Polish coast at Swinoujscie. It was a smooth crossing, and we had quite adequate sleep inside the van. Customs were pretty prompt, and we even managed to persuade the young Orbis lady to give us the student exchange of $4/day required spending instead of the standard $10/day, so we Read on...
We were up early for what was for me to be hopefully the highlight of the trip, our visit to the USSR, as the main reason I chose this particular Sundowners itinerary was because most of them bypassed countries and made it straight from Athens to London. We made it the 30kms to the border by around 8am. Discharge from Romania took around 30 minutes and was no hassle. However, we werent so lucky o Read on...

I drove South from Interstate Hwy 70 on Utah Hwy 128. The last approx. twenty five miles to Moab, the highway followed the Colorado River downstream. On the North side of the river is Arches National Park. When I reached the North Side of Moab, Utah, they had a very nice walking and bicycle bridge over Colorado River at a City of Moab (free) Park. I made my stop in Moab for supplies then drove Nor Read on...

A quarter of a mile off the west coast of Guernsey, Lihou island is a small heaven of peace and beauty, only accessible by foot when the causeway is uncovered.
Gill took us across the tidal causeway where just a couple of hours earlier the area would have covered by the sea and the island cut off.
On the walk across parts of the causeway had granite blocks deeply imbedded these were created to h Read on...
Over the with my love for trains, metros, and public transportation, I have been fortunate to find some of the most beautiful stations in the world. Here are a few of my favorites (with help from tripsavvy): Komsomolskaya Station, Moscow (above) With its crystal chandeliers, marble pillars, and golden mosaics, youd almost expect to waltz through Komsomolskaya Station on their way to the platform. We awoke about 8, got ready, and went to have some breakfast. Our daughter slept in so we brought her some food when we went back. We admired the views of the sea from our Airbnb one last time. It was neat to see the in and out of the harbor all day and night.
We walked over to the waterfront near the bus station and waited. It was very nice to watch the sea. Soon we were on the bus back to the a Read on...
